I have some time to write some posts, so I thought a fun thing for me and all three people who read this would be some top fives of some of my favourite bands (I cannot bring myself to rank ten unless I'm in a very fangirly mood, and after the best five or so songs they kind of level out anyway for most artists), either so you can just have some music to listen to if you're bored, or you've heard of the bands and want to give them a try but aren't sure what to start with . . . whatever, I'm not bothered.
As you can tell, we're starting with You Me At Six.
5) Safer To Hate Her
I don't even know what it is that draws me to this one, but it's awesome.
4) Underdog
This one has to be one of their signature songs. If you know You Me At Six you have to know this one, at the very least the chorus.
3) Kiss And Tell
Very first song by You Me At Six that I can recall hearing. It got stuck in my head for weeks, and now I've remembered the song, it's stuck in there again.
2) Crash
This one got recommended to me by a friend when I was just starting to listen to the band, and it sealed the deal for me. It's sad, really not one to listen to if you're feeling like you might cry, but it's so heartfelt and beautiful anyway.
1) Bite My Tongue (feat. Oli Sykes)
I don't know why, probably because it's on the heavier side and I like heavy music, but this one just gets to me more than all their other songs. The lyrics are awesome, and it's so angry, it's brilliant for stamping about when someone's pissed you off
my favourite music, new music, music you should definitely listen to.

You Me At Six - Lived A Lie
I tend to forget just how much I like You Me At Six. I was hesitant about listening to them at first, for fear of getting the label that a lot of girls get, of only listening to the band because the singer's attractive. Sure, Josh isn't bad looking, but honestly I couldn't care less. When I finally got hold of Sinners Never Sleep, I listened to it a ridiculous amount, and the same with Hold Me Down. They do great music for singing along to, which is great because I love singing along to music.
Lived A Lie is their first release in over a year - the last release wasn't even anything to do with an album, it was the theme for a rollercoaster, which I will never understand - and the You Me At Six fans have been buzzing over it. I, as usual, didn't get to listen to it straight away and have just done so now.
Josh said in an interview - with Kerrang!, I think, seeing as that's where I get all my news - that he reckoned that Lived A Lie is not the smash hit single of the album. It's not meant to be shocking people into going 'wow, how could I have let these guys slip under my radar?', it's supposed to be easing people back into YM@6 being a musical presence. I'd have to agree. It's definitely a song, and it's a much better song, both musically and lyrically, than I could ever write, but it's not slapped me in the face. It's like 'You Me At Six!', not 'YOU ME AT SIX', if you get what I mean.
However, the band have promised bigger hits with their next singles, and Lived A Lie is good enough that I am eagerly anticipating them.

A Band That Hasn't Got A Single Bad Song (18 of 30)
This took some thinking, because I was trying to pick a band I haven't already used. I think I haven't already picked these guys, but at least I'm not sticking to the same three I always use, I suppose. It's You Me At Six, and to demonstrate their skill I have picked the song Crash. It's beautiful but it makes you want to lie on the floor and cry afterwards.

A Good-Looking Band (Day 3 of 30)
That's a difficult one, because there's so many bands out there who look nice, possibly because of the extremely shallow media, possibly due to bizarre coincidence. But if I had to pick a good-looking band, I'd say You Me At Six. Look at them with their hair and their faces, they're quite nice. This is my favourite song by them, Crash.

Songs for PARTY TIMES
Look, I am trying to post but I feel too distracted by that thing that happened on my blog that I'm trying not to keep going on about to be able to listen to a band and give an accurate portrayal of what I think, and I think that it would be unfair to the many wonderful bands that I have yet to listen to if I didn't give them my full attention. So what I'm going to do is another short playlist. Yesterday's was for when you're feeling shit, today's is for when you're feeling good and you need to dance about and glue camel-shaped ornaments to the ceiling, and your mum keeps asking you if you're high (I'm not on this occasion, no). Because sometimes you can come fully out of the darkness, if just for a short while, and you should make the most of that time, because only remembering the darker days isn't living. Don't expect a lot of coherence from here onwards.
My Chemical Romance - Planetary (GO!)
YES, I AM PUTTING MORE MCR ON HERE. And I don't even care, this is an awesome party song, and me and my friends tried to get it played at prom last summer but the stupid DJ said he didn't have it (he was on Spotify, that's just lies, man). But if he had, everyone would have danced along anyway because this is happiness and strobe lights and kicking through stuff and raining glitter. Plus, it was the song that got me into this wonderful, wonderful band.
Reckless - You Me At Six
It's so defiant and bouncy, and just you really need to get up and hop about to this one, it's amazing, I don't even remember how to articulate myself anymore, there is no language only party now.
Lostprophets - A Town Called Hypocrisy
It's got a brilliant chorus for singing along to, and it's fast and dancey, and an awesome riff in it. And it's also a good song for when you're pissed off, which is good cause I'm always a bit pissed off.
Yeah Yeah Yeahs - Heads Will Roll
I don't really listen to the Yeah Yeah Yeahs all that much, but I have always really liked this one. Admittedly, one of the things that brought it to my attention was . . . erm . . . the Glee episode where they did a mash-up of this song and Thriller or something . . . but yeah . . . I like the song in its own right as well. It's so spacey.
All Time Low - I Feel Like Dancin'
I think this is actually the first All Time Low I heard while knowing it was them (I heard Lost In Stereo and stuff, but I never knew who it was at the time). It's actually an awesome song, although I will confess that I did originally like it because Alex Gaskarth looks pretty hot in the video. But the physical appearance of bands shouldn't have anything to do with how much you like the music really, so I listened to it without looking at his face and I still like it. Were I the party-going sort of person, this would very accurately describe the kind of party I'd be at.
The Cribs - Men's Needs
The. Fucking. Guitar. In. This. Just. OMG. It is amazing. It's all shouty and rock'n'rolly, and you can make up your own words to it as long as you say 'men's needs' at some point in the chorus, which is even better because made-up song lyrics are funnnnn.
Go! Dance! Run naked through the streets! Rave safe! Don't take drugs if you don't want to, regardless of what others are pressuring you into, and if you are going to do drugs, only do them with people you feel secure with! Eat more sweets! Turn the lights off and spin round!

You Me At Six - Underdog
Off their album Hold Me Down, and it's one of the songs that got me into them during my 2011 sessions of watching Kerrang! TV until 3 in the morning. So going to learn this if I ever manage to learn guitar properly.
